Hyderabad: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has criticised BRS working president KT Rama Rao for his upcoming visit to Delhi, claiming that it is an attempt to escape from the accusations and legal cases against him.

The Minister stated that, as a responsible public representative, KTR should cooperate with the police investigation in the Formula E race case.

Speaking to the media at the Transport department office at Khairatabad here on Monday, the Minister expressed discontent over KTR’s actions and pointed out that while opposition parties did not support the government’s efforts to seek central assistance by visiting Delhi, KTR is now hastily heading there.

KTR mentioned plans to file a complaint regarding the ‘Amrit’ scheme, while the government has also sought permission from the Governor to conduct an investigation related to car racing allegations involving him.

“We are not saying anyone should be jailed. KTR’s visit to Delhi appears to be an appeal for protection from the central government, distracting public attention from ongoing inquiries. If there is corruption in the Amrit scheme, it can be reported to the central government. However, KTR’s primary purpose seems to be avoiding personal scrutiny,” Prabhakar added, urging KTR to cooperate in the investigations and prove his integrity.

The Minister further announced that from November 14, the Praja Vijayotsavam celebrations would be held on the grand scale, showcasing achievements of the Congress government.

He also shared plans to enhance the status of the Transport department and revealed that the department’s new logo would be released soon.
